WW2 trips and museum visits

The Baugnez 44 Historical Centre is located in Baugnez near Malmedy. The Museum is dedicated to the Battle of the Bulge and also the “Malmedy Massacre”, the tragic murder of American prisoners of war during this Battle. This war crime, committed on December 17, 1944 by members of Kampfgruppe Peiper, took place in a field almost at the same location as were the museum is at.

The museum opened its doors in December 2007 and features dioramas of the daily life of soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge including one especially on the massacre. The two story museum building further shows many authentic wartime materials and unique items. Together with the authentic vehicles, photographs, original wartime documents and films of the time, this museum takes you back to the winter of 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge.
